Hello! It's finally spring here in southern Minnesota thank goodness!

I was beginning to wonder if it would ever arrive.

I wanted to share a double page scrapbook layout of my beautiful dog JoJo. She past away last spring, and let me tell you, I miss her sweet spirit so very much. I thought I would honor her by making this layout... and so I could look at pictures of her life on our farm. Dogs are such blessings, they become family and love us unconditionally.

I've been on a roll lately with making cards. I think I have my crafting Mojo back! I do hope it stays because I sure do love to make cards.

I'm starting out with a Valentine's Day card I made. I mass produced nine for family members.

I used the floral flowers from a PaperTrey Ink stamp set called "Farmer's Market Florals" (LOVE this set). The sentiment is from another PaperTrey Ink stamp set called "Love you to pieces additions" stamp set. The texturized chevron background stamp is from Studio Calico/Hero Arts. I used a Fawn Lawn rectangle stitched die, and the heart is a Stampin Up! die. I Love Nuvo drops and I'm new to using them. There was a little learning curve using them... and I love them! So easy to make your own crystal drops/embellishments now.

This card is a masculine birthday card I made for my nephew Josh. It was so much jun to make. I don't make too many distress technique cards, and NEED to start making more since I've got a lot of Tim Hioltz products. The stamp set is called "Getting There THJ004". Love that it is a collection of smaller stamps that has a train, a car and a ship. It has sentiments and other additional themed stamps in the set. Great for making cards for the guys in my life. The embossing folder is made by Tim Holtz too. I've had these supplies for years, but I've never used them! Am I the only one who does that?

And last, here are a couple of cards I made from an online card class I took. What a fabulous class! I Just LOVE this stamp set! It's a border set that has a lovely leaves border, a painted texture border stamp, (and also pine tree border stamp that I did not use on these cards). Its called "Seasonal Borders Stamp Set" by Concord & 9th. The grateful die is from the Concord & 9th "Grateful Leaf Dies" set.

The class was called "Crafted Kindness" from on-line card classes. It's a class to raise money for the 2017 Hurricane relief. Here is the link here: /https://www.onlinecardclasses.com/product/crafted-kindness/. I really was impressed with this class and there are so many cards I made from this class. I lost a bit of my mojo for a while, and this class jumpstarted me back into it. So many talented designers with a lot of videos! Like 30 designers with videos. It was the best $25.00 I've spent and all the money goes to hurricane relief.

Thanks for stopping by I hope you enjoy the cards.

Hello!
Today I FINALLY decided to share a card after a very long break from my blog.
Today I wanted to share the Christmas card(s) I made for family and friends this year. I made a cute card using a fabulous Tim Holtz stamp set created especially for Simon Says Stamp Stamptember 2017 collection. When I saw this set I just had to have it. The SSS designers made cards using this set and I just loved them ALL. I CAS'ed a card that I thought would be easier to mass produce (45+) that was made by <span style="border: 0px; color: black; font-family: "Open Sans", "Helvetica Neue", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 15px; font-stretch: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline;">Cathie Cowles. There where three dies used, an embossing folder and at least three layers as the base. Each year I say to myself "this year I'm going to make a quick and easy card... " but you know how it goes. Here is a link to the Stamptempber 2017 cards made by the designers showcasing this wonderful set: https://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/blog/brand-new-tim-holtz-2017-stamptember-exclusive/.
I hope this wonderful Christmas Season brings you much joy and love to you and your loved ones.
Happy Stamping.
I made them kind of last minute, so I'm hoping they make it to my family members in time. (I'm such a terrible procrastinator and didn't get them finished until today, just threes days before Thanksgiving! I do hate that about myself. But alas, it's the thought that counts right?)

I just picked up a fabulous fall/Thanksgiving 6x6 paper pad that I fell in love with at Fond Memories in Walnut Grove, MN. LOVE that designer paper in both 12x12 sheets and a 6x6 pad size! It's called Fall Blessings by Carta Bella. I paired it with some cute Fawn Lawn Stitched Leaves die cuts. Aren't those stitched leaves so cute? Lately they have become a favorite die set for me. I switched things up a bit and made half the cards with a kraft card stock base, and half with cream linen cardstock.
Hello! Today I have a few tags I created for my nieces. I just loved Tim Holtz's April 2015 tag post. I mean I fell in love with that tag and a few others he created for his blog this year! So I bought some of the stamps and dies he designed to created some of my own tags.
You can find all the instructions on how to create a tag like this HERE on Tim's blog. He is so talented! And I love the wonderful stamps, dies and line of distress inks he has created with Ranger, Sizzix and Stamper's Anonymous. My two nieces are big fans of his as well! I truly enjoyed making these tags. There is watercoloring and spiriting, distressing and die cutting, then the sewing. Totally therapeutic. I love creating things, it just makes me happy!
I mailed out these tags to my niece's Stacy and Melissa today. I hope they enjoy them as much as I had creating them! Thanks for stopping by.

Happy 45th Birthday to me sweet niece Stacy! I made her this poppy watercolor card using a Tim Holtz flower stamp set. I totally fell in love with his tag that he made on his blog for his April 2015 tag post. I knew I had to have that stamp set and buy some assorted distress markers to try out the technique he used. For this card, I first stamped my image on watercolor card stock and let it dry, then sprayed some plain water with a fine mist sprayer onto the stamped card stock. Then I immediately sprayed on some broken china blue distress ink stain spray, then sprayed some more plain water onto that while it was still wet. Then I took some paper towels and picked up the excess water. Let the card stock dry completely before coloring the poppy and stems with distress markers. Then after I put a few lines of color in the flower image, I used a water color brush to move the distress marker ink around and give the image a watercolor effect.
You can see Tim's tutorial on watercoloring here. I love his technique and the tag he created! My niece Stacy who I made this birthday card for, absolutely loves everything Tim Holtz and is a fellow artist, so I had to make her a card using Tim's products. My card is 5-1/2" x5-1/2".
The size of my card is 5-1/2" x 5-1/2". I am showcasing the delightful Ai Robe Spinner stamp set and Ai Robe Spinner dies. I didn't have a scallop die, so I used my silhouette cameo machine to cut a scallop circle out that fit inside my spellbinder die on the front of my card. I picked out some pretty designer paper from an older Basic Grey paper 6"x6" pad (the Kioshi collection). I used copic markers to color my stamped image.

Hello! It is beginning to feel a lot like spring here in Minnesota! So I made a couple of spring floral cards to share. I used a new Paper Trey Ink stamp set called Brushed Blooms. LOVE this new two step stamp set and dies. It is so pretty. I think it's going to be one of my favorites. I paired "Brushed Blooms" with Paper Trey's "Wet Paint III". I stamped "Sending" onto kraft card stock with Versamark Ink, and embossed it with American Crafts black embossing powder.

I think It makes it stand out nice.

Here is a a butterfly "Thank You" card that I made by making a watercolor background on watercolor paper. I saw a similar card on Pinterst and I had to try making a card similar to it. It was such a pretty card, and I like the way these two cards turned out.

It had been ages ago since I made a shaker card! I mean let's face it, they used to be difficult to make when I first started making cards in the 1990's. But thanks to Paper Trey Ink they are now much easier and fun to make! I love the Make It Market kit "Shaker cards" kit. It has everything in it to make fabulous shaker cards. It has double sided foam sheets, sequins (of various shapes, colors and sizes), acetate sheets, dies, designer paper, and a coordinating stamp set. It's the perfect base kit, and then you can buy coordinating dies to make tons of shaker cards of all shapes and sizes and for ALL occasions. The matching sentiments in the kit and the add on sentiments and dies are so unique too.
The silver glitter "sparkle" word was die cut with Stampin Up's glitter paper. I LOVE that stuff. It comes in red, silver, champagne and gold colors. I think I've seen a rainbow of colors of different glitter paper cardstock at my local scrapbook store too. The problem I had though, was that the silver glitter paper got lost behind the creme card stock, and it didn't stand out very well. So I die cut the word again in dark grey card stock, and popped the silver words in front of the grey, and that worked perfectly.

Betty Veldman, an extremely talented and leading lady in the card and paper crafts industry, designed this wonderful kit for Paper Trey Ink. She has been a designer for Paper Trey Ink for quite some time. I am so fond of Paper trey Ink, and the stamps and dies they make. I have quite a collection (and still growing I might add). I love it that I"ll never have to buy another greeting card, I simply can just make my own.

Materials used: Stamps, dies, cream card stock and sequins: Paper Trey Ink. Black ink: Memento Ink. Vintage photo Distress ink: Tim Holtz/Ranger. All other inks: Stampin Up!.
So sorry for my long hiatus away from my blog. I can't believe how long it's been since I've posted anything. Been busy with life! And being a bad procrastinator certainly did not help. I'll try to be better.

It's spring here in Southern Minnesota, and in just three weeks, the weather has gone from 10 or 20 above, to a dreamy 61 today! Spring fever for sure! Makes me want to go for walks with the dogs and start gardening.

I wanted to share a few cards I made for valentine's day for my nieces and my dear husband.

This second card I made for my husband. The size is 5" x 5". I just love this sentiment from Verve Stamps! I love the text style combo. I also used black embossing powder for the sentiment and heat set it using my heat gun. Really makes the sentiment stand out. I used circle dies, a leaf scroll die, a scallop with stitching die, and hand punched the heart. Lots of layers, I also like distressing the edges with vintage photo distress ink. My husband really enjoyed getting it for valentine's day.

Wow, I can't believe it's August already! This summer is going way too fast, I want to savor it... and make it last. Today I have a baby card that I made for a sweet friend who is expecting her first baby, a boy! I love this onesie baby stamp from Stampin Up! that I borrowed from a friend to make this cute card. I tried to use some summer colors and more "boy" theme card.

Hello! I have a wedding card to share with you. I really love how it turned out. It's non-traditional one might say, and different. I chose some pretty colors that coordinate with the actual colors the bride used in her wedding, gray and orange. (Some of the flowers in the designer paper are orange and gray). I wanted to use bright summer colors, and I wanted to use this beautiful bible verse stamp as the main image. I used many assorted dies and many different layers.

Made this cute baby shower card for my niece who is having a baby. We don't know the sex, so I made it for either a boy or a girl. Love this Paper Trey Ink stamp set. It's so cute and has so many images and text to match. I watercolored the elephant image. The card is a 5-1/2" x 5-1/2".
Thanks for stopping by! Hope you are having a great summer!
Hello and Happy Fourth of July weekend! Time truly speeds by doesn't it. It is a lovely summer day here in southern Minnesota! Today I have a card to share with you that is bright like a summer day! I made this card for my sister in KY. She always is doing so many sweet things for me, so I wanted to send her a thank you card in return. I really like how this turned out! I used a variety of items on this card from different companies, which make it kinda fun to mix and match things.

Sorry for my long hiatus! I figured it's time to get back to making some cards and posting them again!
It's snowing out today if you can believe it! :) I perfect day for stamping and card making!

Quite some time ago I saw a beautiful stamped butterfly card that is similar to the card I created here today. The original creator used a stamped butterfly and the same lace ribbon. I saved the image but forgot where I got it from (maybe from splitcoast stampers?). So I cased this card after that card, sorry I can't remember who originally created it.

I made this card for my Granddaughter Alexis. It's her 10th birthday, and since she loves butterflies, I wanted to make a butterfly birthday card. I picked some pretty designer papers from the "Hey Girl" 6x6 paper pad from Basic Grey. Such pretty colors, very girly.

Here is a close up. I love the butterfly die I used. It's two dies made to layer/work together. Pretty. I used some old lace ribbon and some pretty peach Stampin Up! ribbon. I LOVE that ribbon from the "In Color" collection. I love the color line too!
Thanks for stopping by!
I know it's been a while since I've made any posts, but I needed to take a break for some health reasons. I had a heart attack (very scary!!!!) mid April, and working my way back to good health, everyday life, plus vegetable gardening (which is going great!).
Thanks for your patience, I'm so grateful for my blog and friends that visit. I'm looking forward to getting back into my art room to make some fun papercrafts to share! :)

In the meantime, here is my last Ai card I made as a guest designer for the new 2013 Girlfriends release. I just love this stamp! So much fun, and I LOVE pedicures.

Hello! Last week Art Impressions released their much anticipated 2013 line of Girlfriends stamps! I could hardly wait to get my hands on the new sets! They have also added some new kits with this new line of girlfriends stamps. How cool huh? The set includes a pad of 6"x6" pad of Prima designer paper (LOVE the colors and designs on both pads), five sheets of some color coordinating Bazzil cardstock, 2 pieces of twine, mini brads, 18" of ribbon, 13 enamel dots, and 3 wooden buttons. The card kit that I used is GF Card Kit #2.
The Ai stamp I used is called "At the Movies" SKU# 4237. I just LOVE this new stamp, maybe because I LOVE movies and Ai girlfriends so much. I used copic markers for the coloring.

I paired the Girlfriends at the Movies stamp set with My Favorite Things "DC Just the Ticket" stamp set and ticket die. Another favorite stamp set of mine! They are perfect together.

For the inside I added a ticket die cut, and a sentiment, both sentiments are from the At the Movies Girlfriend set. Such cute sentiments in the set too!
Last week was my last day on the Art Impressions Design Team. I loved being part of Art Impressions for my 6 month DT term. It was so much fun (a dream come true) and I worked with so many talented, and wonderful women in the industry. It was such an honor to be be chosen for the DT and do what I love to do, make cards and stamping! I will still be filling my addiction with Ai stamps to be sure (as I just received my latest Ai order in the mail!) hehe. Can't wait to see all the new stamps as they release them over the 2013 year. Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

Hello
and Happy Friday Ai friends! Today I have a Graduation card to share
with you. I'm so excited to finally get my hands on this new Ai Grad
2013 Reach for the Stars stamp SKU# 4292. It's such a fabulous sentiment stamp, and oh so versitile!

My
card size is a regular A2 (4-1/4" x 5-1/2") card size. I wanted to use a
formal color scheme of black, sliver, and white. I used an older paper
pad from DCWV 8" x 8" called La Creme Stack (printed paper with
flocking). I paired that with black and brushed silver cardstock. I
added some black diamond stickles to the cute star in the sentiment for
some added glimmer. I also had some rhinestone accent swirls to add a
nice balance.

On
the inside of my card I stamped a simple Congratulations sentiment SKU#
G959. I added a large strip of matching designer paper at the bottom. I
hope you have enjoyed my Graduation card. I can't believe graduation's
are just around the corner! Thank you for stopping by the Art
Impressions blog. Happy stamping!

Hello friends! It's Challenge 106 over at the Art Impressions Blog today, and the challenge is to use "Pins" in your card or project. I love using fancy stick or hat pins on my cards, so this was a fabulous and fun challenge for me, since I have quite a supply of stick pins. I chose to use one of my favorite Ai stamps Jumbo Dancer, SKU# 4191, a cute elephant stamp set that is from the Art Impressions Zoo Crew line of stamps.
My kraft base cardstock size is 5-1/2" x 5-1/2" square. I used a cute designer paper 6" x 6" pad from Cosmo Cricket called Baby Jane. I paper pieced the cute elephant's dress with coordinating designer paper from the pad. I Love the bright colors and pretty patterns. I used two different stick pins to mix it up a bit, the yellow leaf pin is made by Little Yellow Bicycle, and the little white flower pin is made by Maya Road. The buttons are from My Favorite Things Stamps, and the cream twine is from Paper Trey Ink.
I hope you enjoyed my creation today. Please stop by the Art Impressions Blog to see what the other Ai Design Team members have made for this fun challenge. Won't you play along with us? You could win $10.00 in Ai stamps! Thanks for stopping by!

Hello friends! Today I have a fun card made with a favorite Ai People stamp called Cropper SKU# U4092.
I just LOVE this fun image! So fun to make a card for your scrapbooking
friends! My kraft card base is 6" x 6", a nice large square card.

I
colored my image in with copic markers and rounded all the edges. I
sewed the layers to the kraft base. I added seven white buttons from my
button stash. The designer paper is a 6" x 6" paper pad called "Fine and
Dandy", by My Mind's Eye that is just adorable paper.

For the inside I used a coordinating sentiment Wallets Out SKU# F4093 that matches the cropper stamp. Cause you know when you go to a crop, you are gonna spend way too much money!
Hope you have a wonderful weekend, and Happy Spring!

Hello friends, it's Ai Challenge 105 over at the Art Impressions Blog today, and the challenge is to make a coordinating card and envelope set. Since this week is the first week of Spring, I decided to make an Easter card. I used this adorable Ai Bunny and Egg stamp SKU# P3098. Isn't he adorable or what with his jumbo egg! I loved coloring him in. I used copic markers on the bunny, and prisma color pencils, gamsol, and paper stumps for the egg. For the envelope I simply masked out the bunny image with a post it note, so I only stamped the egg. I used a black permanent marker to draw in the masked areas at the bottom.

The kraft cardstock base of my card is a regular A2 size card (4-1/4" x 5-1/2"). The designer paper is from a 8" x 8" designer pad called "Easter Hunt" from Paper Trey Ink.

The envelope is a regular size A2. I used prisma color pencils, gamsol, and paper stumps to color the image in. I hope you enjoyed my Spring card today. Please stop by the Art Impressions Blog to see what fabulous cards the design team has created. Won't you play along with us?
