Thanksgiving brings grateful hearts

Hello and Happy Friday!
I cannot believe next week is Thanksgiving can you! So much to be grateful for... With that thought comes this card I made using a beautiful Cornucopia image from Art Impressions SKU# U2493. I LOVE this image, and loved coloring it with my alcohol markers, then matching it with some lovely fall harvest designer papers. Love the combination of rusts, reds, browns, olives and yellows. My card size is 6" x 5-1/2". I seem to love that size lately. I first stamped my image with black ink onto cream cardstock. Colored it with a combination of Copic and Spectrum Noir markers. Cut the image out and distressed the edges with Vintage dye ink. I popped my image up with 3M foam tape for dimension. I die cut various leaves with Spellbinder dies. For some added texture I ran two of the leaves through embossing folders. I distressed the edges with Vintage dye ink. Added three color coordinated buttons for the final embellishments.

Here is a close-up of the colored image and die cut leaves. For the inside of my card I used a really beautiful Ai Thanksgiving script sentiment, SKU# J167.

Ai Challenge 89, Quilling

Hello and happy Thursday! It's Ai Challenge 89 over at the Ai blog today, and the challenge is to add "Paper Quilling" to your card. Now, this is a NEW thing for me! I've never "Paper Quilled" before. (I had to look up card examples on the internet so I could see how it was done!). So it was certainly a challenge for me!
I used the super cute and sweet Ai image "Becky front and back", SKU# T1519, combined with the Ai "Wooden Fence", SKU# P1499. I've never used the Ai "front and back" stamps before, so there are a lot of firsts for me on this card challenge!
My card size is A2 (4-1/4" x 5-1/2") regular card size. I used kraft cardstock for my base. I colored Becky front and back, and the fence (the fence has to be stamped two times) with copic markers.
Once the images are colored in, I cut each one out very close to the stamp lines.  I adhered the fence to front of the card at the very bottom. Then I cut off the rest of the kraft cardstock (front only of the card).
Next I lined up the front fence, with the second wooden fence I colored in, and adhered that, so I could now flip the fence open or closed and have each side showing a fence. Then it was time to finish the inside of my card. I wanted to make a outdoor scene. I used a soft sky colored cardstock, and embossed it with spots. I rounded the corners, and distressed the edges with tea dye ink. Then I sewed that down to the inside. I die cut some cute clouds, and then die cut out the cute kite. I had to die cut the kite five (5) different times because I wanted to use five different pieces of paper (one each of kraft, orange, yellow, and two different pieces designer paper). Once I finished die cutting, I distressed all the edges with tea dye distress ink, added the kite string to the kite, and then adhered them down onto the sky background. I cut four strips of kraft cardstock for my quilling, and rolled them using a pair of tweezers. I carefully glued them onto the four kite die cut panels to complete my quilling. Next I adhered Becky (front and back) in place to the fence.

A window card

Hello and Happy Friday! Today I thought I'd make a window card. The kind you use a clear acetate sheet with, and die cuts. I can't remember the last time I made one, so I thought it would be fun! My card size is a regular A2 size card (4-1/4"H x 5-1/2"L). I used a really cute Ai German Shepherd stamp, SKU# G970. I chose to combine a cute picture of my own German Shepherd dog with this card. 

This is picture of the card when it's laying flat, so you don't get the glare from the acetate window. You can see I lined up the the dies so they cut where I wanted the photo to show through.

Ai Challenge #88, use a Photo

Hello and happy Thursday! It's Challenge #88 over at the Ai blog today, and today's challenge is to incorporate a "photo" into your card. This one was very easy for me, because my husband's niece had a baby in the last year. Actually three of my husbands nieces all had a baby in the last year and a half! They are all in the same family of siblings too, and they all had girls!  :)
I had to use this SWEET picture of my great niece. She is so beautiful. I wanted to pair her photo with the Elephant Keeper stamp set, SKU# 4073. It's from the card keeper's collection. I love this set and it was perfect to use with my photo. I started out with a grey cardstock base sized 6" wide, by 5-1/2" long.  Kind of a different size, but I needed a large card base to support my 3"x5" photo. Next I cut a slightly smaller layer of Ruby Red cardstock, used a ticket punch on the corners, and distressed the edges with ink.  Then a layer of pretty designer paper. I actually liked both sides of the designer paper so much, that I cut the piece in half, and flipped one side over, so you can see both designs. I sewed all the layers together onto the base of the card. Now for my 3"x5" photo, I cut the photo down in size with my paper trimmer so it better fit my card front. I layered it onto Ruby Red cardstock, and layered that onto a piece of white cardstock. I punched a pretty lace border at the bottom, and distressed it with tea dye and vintage dye distress inks. I added some small pearls to the lace trim. I used 3M foam tape to pop up the photo.
For the cute elephant I stamped him on white cardstock with black ink, colored him in with Spectrum Noir markers, and cut him out. I also popped him up with 3M foam tape.

For the inside of my card I used white cardstock; rounded the corners and distressed the edges with tea dye ink. I stamped the "Congratulations" sentiment, SKU# G959, in Ruby Red ink, and added the cute matching sentiment "For your little princess" from the Elephant Keeper stamp set. Then I stamped the ribbon from the Elephant Keeper stamp set, SKU# 4073, onto the same designer paper using black ink. I cut the ribbon out, and carefully glued only the ends of the ribbon, so you could still slide money under the bow. Finished!
