Jump In, the waters great!

Hello friends and happy Friday. I was thinking about warm places I wish I could be right now, other than my cold and snowy state of Minnesota! So since I couldn't go there, I made a card scene of "fun in the sun" instead. I love this funny Ai Golden Oldies image called "Jump In", SKU# T3468. They are so fun and cute, and just as much fun to color in!
The kraft card base is 5-1/2" x 5-1/2". I chose some cute designer paper from Basic Grey called Marrakech (an older 6" x 6" paper pad from my stash). Love the bright colors in the papers. I matched my copic marker colors with the paper, and colored the stamped image in. I used Spellbinder dies to layer my colored image on. For some fun texture I ran some light blue designer paper through a Provo Craft Cuttlebug embossing folder. (They made me think of water bubbles.) I added some Hero Arts clear crystals, and sewed around the edges.

Here is a close-up of the colored image. (Just click on the picture for an enlarged picture).  I added two color coordinated buttons tied with natural twine.

For the inside I stamped the Ai sentiment "Goofy Things", SKU# F2637. I added a strip of matching designer paper to the bottom, and distressed the edges with tea dye ink. I hope you enjoy my little creation. Thanks for stopping by.

Santa and his little friends...

Hello and Happy Friday! I can't believe Christmas is almost here! I finally got to ink up this new ADORABLE Ai Santa and Penguins stamp, SKU# U4170. It just makes me smile because it's so CUTE! It was so fun to color in with a combination of Copic and Spectrum Noir markers. The kraft base of my card is 6" x 5-1/2". I wanted it to be a large card so I could layer my image onto a pretty Spellbinder's die cut, and pretty Christmas designer paper.

Here is a close up of the colored image. Santa and his little helpers are having such a fun time. I used some cute red gingham ribbon from my stash (retired from SU!) and tied a bow. Then I used some cream twine and tied a white button on top of the bow.

For the inside of the card I used a fun new 2012 Ai Christmas sentiment Holly Jolly, SKU# G4168. I used some matching designer paper, rounded the corners, and distressed the edges.

I would like to wish everyone a safe, happy, and blessed Christmas! Thank you for visiting.

Thumbprint card, Ai Challenge 93

Happy Thursday! It's challenge 93 over at the Ai blog today. Today's challenge is to use your own "Thumbprint" to make a card. I decided to make a flower using my thumbprint. (It may be winter, but I was thinking summer here for this card!) I stamped my thumb in a Yellow Memento inkpad six times, to make the flower petals. After that I used a black marker to outline each thumbprint, and then made a stem and two leaves. I used a green copic marker to color the leaves. I added a white button that was threaded with cream twine, and glued it to the center of the flower petals.

Here is a close up of my card. No rubber stamping on this card, that's a first for me! Please stop by the Ai blog to see what the other Ai design team members have come up with for today's challenge. Please play along with us! You could win a $10.00 Ai coupon!

Meet Beanie Whoot

Hello friends and happy Friday! I've been working on some birthday cards this week, and I decided to ink up this cute Ai Beanie Whoots stamp SKU# M4122. Isn't he the cutest or what? I decided to keep this card clean and simple. The kraft card base is 5-1/2" x 5-1/2". I stamped my Beanie Whoots onto white cardstock, and colored the owl's hat and chest with Spectrum Noir markers (aqua's and grey's). I colored the owl and the branch with my Prisma Color pencils, gamsol, and paper stumps. I chose some lovely designer papers from a 6"x6" My Mind's Eye paper pad (Lost and Found 2, Breeze collection). LOVE those beautiful papers!

On the close up you can see the two different kinds of stitches I used to sew around the edges of the card. (Click on the photo for a close up).

For the inside of the card I stamped a cute sentiment from the Ai Birthday Whoot stamp set, SKU #4125. Distressed the edges with some tea dye distress ink, and added a matching strip of designer paper.
Thank you for stopping today! Have a safe and wonderful weekend and Happy Stamping!
