Anniversary card for my husband

In January my husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary. Here is the card I made him. I know, red doesn't seem like a manly kind of color, but he loved it all the same.   :)   I was more interested in picking out a paper that included text and collage elements in it, so I picked this paper by My Mind's Eye. Lots of layers, and the sentiment is embossed with glossy black embossing powder, but its hard to see that in this photo.  Thanks for stopping by.

Card materials used:
Stamps: sentiment: Verve Stamps (Kind Words); background ledger stamp: Statement stamps, "a ledger statement"; Versa Mark Ink; Black embossing powder: Judi-Kins; Label dies: My Favorite Things; Kraft CS: Paper Trey Ink; black CS: SU!; White CS: Neenah; Designer paper: My Mind's Eye 6x6 paper pad; Apron border punch: Fiskars; Scarlet jewel buttons and cream twine: Paper Trey Ink;  Vintage dye ink: Ranger/Tim Holtz.

For my Valentine...

A couple of weeks ago I went to a fabulous store that I love in Walnut Grove, MN that sells antiques and rubber stamps/scrapbooking supplies. Its called Fond Memories. The store has a bunch of WONDERFUL and TALENTED women who work there and design the card samples and scrapbook layouts throughout the store. They have card classes and make and takes, and they also sell card kits so you can make your cards at home. This is a single card kit I bought and made at home. The base of the card is cut from one of those Grand Nestabilities dies. There is no stamping, all the little words are cut out of the cutest valentine's day designer paper from We R Memory Keepers "Love struck forever" collection (All the designer paper is from the same collection).  Hope you have a Happy Valentine's Day!

Vintage paper

I cant remember if I bought this 12"x12" paper at a scrapbook store, or if it came in one of the monthly Studio Calico kits, but I love it! It is such pretty paper, so I wanted to keep it simple and use a favorite photo of mine that I thought matched well (my niece and her daughter).

Addicted to designer paper...

I am officially addicted to paper. I just cannot help myself. It comes in the most wonderful styles/designs I've ever seen! They didn't make them like this 15 years ago when I started card making. I mean, floral, text, circles, layers, stripes, etc., and in a million colors too! (Big sigh).
This card is made from one of my FAVORITE manufacturers, My Mind's Eye. I love to purchase the 6"x6" paper pads for making my cards, because you get two sheets each (usually 24 sheets per pad) of your desired collection. So you don't have to try finding matching papers in your own paper stash, its all in the pad. And that is just fabulous and makes it so much easier for making my cards. This makes me so happy.   :)
This card I made for my sister Brenda's birthday. I have four sisters and one brother, and they all love getting handmade cards.

Card materials:
Stamps: hugs and smiles: Verve Stamps; Ledger statement background stamp: Statement Stamps (bought from red lead paper works). Kraft cardstock: Paper Trey Ink; Black CS: Stampin Up!; White CS: Neenah; Designer paper: My Minds Eye, Lost and Found (Sunshine) collection 6x6" pad;  Noir Black ink: Paper Trey Ink; black embossing powder: Judi Kins; Antique and Vintage dye inks: Ranger; White and black pearls: Queen & Co.; Dies (3 die set) from My Favorite Things; Flowers: Harmonie; Lace: Jo-ann Fabrics; Sewing machine: Kenmore; white thread. Have a great day!

I have a weakness for all images of birds. I love them! I feed the wild birds outside. They give me peace and serenity. So when I saw this beautiful set of stamps by artist outpost I had to have it. Sorry about the dark background, I had to take a real quick picture just before I put it in the post to make sure it arrived on time my for sister Debbie's birthday. She loves birds too, and her favorite color is yellow.

Chocolate chip dark brown ink: Stampin Up!; Vintage distress ink by Ranger; Pearl stick pins: Maya Road; Yellow ribbon: Michael's; Lace trim: Joann's Fabric store.
