Ai Challenge 98, Paper Piecing

Hello and happy Thursday! It's Challenge 98 over at the Ai Blog today, and this weeks challenge is to combine "Paper Piecing" into a card/project. I decided to choose this fun loving Ai stamp called "Jumbo Dancer", SKU# T4185. She is so cute and fashionable! I inked her up and then die cut her out with a Stampin Up! Sizzix die. Then I colored her in with copic markers. I decided to use some really beautiful designer paper from Carta Bella to paper piece her dress, purse and hat with, and then used coordinating designer paper for the background. I just LOVE that paper pad. After I finished with my image, I distressed the edges with Vintage Photo distress ink, and then layered some Not Quite Navy SU! cardstock behind the die cut. I paper pierced all around the edges, I liked the added texture.

Here is a close up of the image. You can see my sewing around the edges, both straight stitch and zig zag. I also used a small scallop border punch from Stampin Up! on the not quite navy panel. I embellished the panel with silver pearls on the bottom. Love those silver pearls!

For the inside of my card, I added the simple Ai sentiment "Style is Everything", SKU# D3469. Such a perfect sentiment for this card, then I added a wide strip of coordinating designer paper to the bottom.
I hope you visit the Art Impressions Blog to see what the other Design Team members have created for this fun challenge. Play along with us won't you? You could win a $10.00 certificate for Ai stamps. Thanks for visiting.
